The school was founded on 22 January 1964 as Goodwood-East High. Mr PJ Le Roux was the first principal. On 28 April 1965 the school was renamed President High School. The current school uniform, badge, motto and school anthem existed since then.

Mr Le Roux was succeeded as Principal by:
